【No. 37】 次は，チェーンソーによる伐倒作業の手順を示した記述であるが，Ａ～Ｄに当てはまるものの組合せとして最も妥当なのはどれか。

　Control of the felling direction is accomplished by some form of undercut which is made

　There are many factors to consider before felling a tree. The tree should be checked for loose bark or limbs, and the lean of the tree should be determined. The stump should be checked for rot, and the possibility of adjacent trees being affected by the felling should be determined.The escape route to take when the tree falls should be determined【Ｂ】cutting begins. Other factors to consider are the effect of the wind and the effect of its position on the ground relative to felling surrounding trees.
　The undercut should be【Ｃ】a third of the diameter of the tree. A barber-chair, or tree splitting, is apt to occur when the tree starts to fall before the backcut has been cut to a sufficient depth providing the proper thickness of holding wood. This may occur in hardwoods and with heavy leaners. The chance of splitting can be minimized by making the backcut rapidly.
